Confined Space
According to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), a confined space is defined as ‘one which is both enclosed or mostly enclosed and has a reasonably foreseeable specified risk to workers of fire, explosion, loss of consciousness, asphyxiation or drowning.’
‘Confined space’ may be small and restrictive for the worker, or it could be far larger such as a grain storage silo with hundreds of cubic metre capacity.
FOHCUS occupational health offers on-site confined space medical assessments to ensure that your employees are fit to work in these environments safely.
